Ramadan Timetable 1431H/ 2010

Al-Muntada Al-Islami Trust has been visited in London by the UNIW Secretariat. Al-Muntada al-Islami Trust is one of 175 members of The Union of NGOs of the Islamic World.
Sameh Ramadan, Managing Director of Al-Muntada, gave brief information about the organization’s activities and projects and listened to the Secretariat members about the recent meetings and activities of The UNIW.
Al-Muntada Al-Islami Trust was established in 1986 as an independent organisation to cater for the London Muslim Community. They currently have a number of centres around the world; each delivering needs based projects through local initiatives. Some of these projects include, feeding programmes for some of the poorest people in the world, educational programmes to tackle illiteracy, building of water wells, production of Islamic media, Islam awareness projects, community outreaching.

Directing Manager Sameh Ramadan said:

“We have been developing educational, social and humanitarian aid projects on poor regions and needy countries. We have many community services and lectures for many sisters and brothers. Apart from that we give dawah to people in Europe and tell about Islam. We have courses to train da’ees and tell about Islam.
Recently, one of our da’ees went to a village in England and told about Islam and invited people to Islam and then the entire village embraced Islam. Now we are building a mosque and sending imams to teach Islam to those people.”

Secretariat member Berkant Oztas congratulated the members of Al-Muntada for their successful activities and informed them about the recent programmes of The UNIW as well as the agenda of Union Council Meeting. Underlining the importance of unity, Mr. Oztas said that if there was coordination and collaboration among Muslim organizations, those activities would be executed faster and more effective within the concept of unity and he added:

“All other systems have been tried up to now and some has brought apparently civilization and progress but it shouldn’t be forgotten that it was not Muslims killing millions of civilians and innocent people during Crusades, First World War and Second World. Talking about today we, unfortunately, observe that humanity still suffer from killings and human right violations in Iraq, Palestine and Afghanistan. People blaming Islam for terrorism do not say anything about those atrocities and blood-shed. After loads of trials, it is now time for whole the world to know about the real message of peace, brotherhood and love in Islam and learn about it. That village embracing Islam is a good omen for future of Islam. We believe that if we can live properly and represent Islam in the best way, many other villages and even countries will be embracing Islam biiznillah.”

Al-Muntada directors received a Holy Qur’an from the Secretariat members. Sameh Ramadan the Managing Director finalized his speech emphasizing the need for the UNIW and said that they would like to get more duties and be more active and in the Union.
